Tell us which page you were on and what happened. You don’t need to know the technical name for the problem, and you don’t need to describe it in any particular way. If we can’t correct it quickly, we’ll get you the same information another way and put the problem on our list.
The standard we measure against
We want you to be able to use this site, read our product information and get a quote. We measure the site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, including the parts that cover people who use a screen reader, people who can’t use a mouse, and people with low vision or color blindness.
We don’t meet all of it today. The rest of this page says where we stand, so you know what to expect before you run into it.
Parts that work
- We counted 180 images across ten pages. Every one of them is marked up for a screen reader. 154 carry wording that describes the picture, and the other 26 are decoration, marked as decoration so a screen reader skips them instead of reading out a file name.
- Every page we checked has its own title.
- The site tells assistive software that it’s written in English, so a screen reader reads it in the right language rather than guessing.
Known problems
On October 16, 2026 we ran axe-core 4.10.2 in a Chrome browser against the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A and AA rules on four pages, our home page, Contact, Free Quote and Shop, and we checked images, headings and page regions on ten pages.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA failures
- Our form fields aren’t named in the code. Each box has a label beside it on screen, but that label isn’t connected to the box underneath it, so a screen reader reads out an unnamed box. That is 9 fields in the short quote form at the bottom of every page, 9 more on Contact and 18 on Free Quote. WCAG 1.3.1 and 4.1.2.
- Some of our text doesn’t have enough contrast. White on our yellow measures 1.93 to 1 where the guidelines ask for 4.5 to 1, and some of our gray body text measures 3.5 to 1 against white. We found 27 of these on the home page, plus another 85 the tool couldn’t judge because the text sits over a photo. The 866 number in our header is one of them. WCAG 1.4.3.
- Our forms don’t tell your browser what each box holds, so it can’t fill in your name, phone number and address for you the way it does on other sites. WCAG 1.3.5.
- One slider’s dots are marked up wrong on the home page, so a screen reader announces them as something they aren’t. WCAG 1.3.1.
Other problems we found
These aren’t Level AA failures. They still get in your way, so they sit on the same list.
- Our “Skip to content” link doesn’t work on most pages. Every page carries the link, and it’s the first thing a keyboard user reaches, but on eight of the ten pages we checked there’s nothing at the other end of it. Contact and Bison Wood Tiles are the two where it works.
- Three pages have no main heading. Our home page, Contact and Free Quote don’t open with a top-level heading, which makes them harder to move through if you navigate a page by its headings.
- Most of our pages don’t mark where the content starts, so assistive software can’t jump past the header to it. Two of the ten we checked do.
We haven’t tested the specification sheets, installation instructions and CAD drawings we publish as PDF files, or any page beyond the ten named above. Some of those files come from the manufacturers whose products we sell, so we didn’t build them and we don’t control how they were built. We also haven’t finished checking whether every image description is genuinely useful rather than merely present.
Accessibility overlays
We haven’t installed an accessibility overlay widget. We’re correcting the site itself instead.
Another way to get the same information
Nothing on this site is the only way to reach us or to buy from us. Phone and email get you the same result, so use whichever one suits you. We can:
- take your deck measurements and project details and build the quote for you
- read product specifications and dimensions to you, or write them out in an email
- go through a spec sheet, an installation instruction or a CAD drawing with you and give you the numbers you need out of it
