A Revolutionary Approach to Deck Construction

Bison Wood Tiles revolutionized deck building. Before Bison Wood Deck Tiles, wood decking had to be cut and assembled onsite to fit architectural and design specifications. However, Bison’s standardization of deck tile sizes of 2′ x 2′ and 2′ x 4′, along with premanufacturing the wood tiles, led to incredible efficiencies in commercial deck building. Nolonger did wood planking need to be indivdually cut and installed onsite to build a custom elevated deck.

Architectural and Engineering Standardization

Architects can specify Bison Wood Tiles along with other Bison deck systems products to produce limitless rooftop deck possibilities. Bison 2CM Porcelain Tiles, Bison Deck Cubes, and Bison Aluminum Deck Trays integrate seamlessly together.
All Bison products are supported with technical resources including:

HIGH-QUALITY & COMMERCIAL GRADE

Bison wood tiles are a special type of wood decking made from sustainable, high-quality, commercial-grade wood materials. They are designed to be installed easily and efficiently, saving time on construction projects. Bison wood tiles come in a variety of styles and sizes to fit any architectural design. They are also durable enough to withstand heavy foot traffic and harsh weather conditions.

popular wood deck wood choices - Teak vs. Ipe

For many years a Teak deck was the go-to standard in wood deck construction. It was well liked for it’s neutral brown appearance, durability and hardness. In recent years, however, Ipe has become a more popular choice. Ipe is responsibly harvested from African Forests and Teak has become more difficult to acquire. A Teak deck or Ipe deck both offer beauty, weather resistance, and durability. Ipe is typically used in commercial projects as it offers even better durability with a hardness rating of more than 2x that of Teak. Ipe has a Janka Hardness Rating of 3,680 lbs, while teak has a Janka Hardness Rating of 1,155 lbs. In addition, Ipe holds up better to UV radiation and is not as susceptible to color changes as Teak.

Bison wood tiles are available in Sustainably Sourced options that meet LEED standards for green building materials, making them a sustainable choice for environmentally-friendly buildings. Additionally, the tiles are designed to reduce water runoff and promote healthy soil, making them an excellent choice for eco-conscious property owners and architects. Overall, bison wood tiles offer a beautiful and sustainable option for any decking project.
